2011 Subscription Drive is Underway!!

The Elizabeth Township Area EMS would like to remind residents of Elizabeth Borough and Elizabeth Township that their Annual Subscription Campaign is now underway.  This is the only “fundraiser” for the ambulance service.  Funds received from the subscription drive are essential to the maintenance and replacement of life-saving ambulance equipment.  Any resident who has not received their subscription, or anyone with questions, is encouraged to call our business office at 412-751-0919.

Mass Oxygen Delivery System

ETA-EMS was recently requested by
Allegheny County Emergency Services to operate the newly acquired Mass
Oxygen Delivery System (MODS Unit).  The system consists of two
trailers.  The larger of the two trailers houses the MODS unit and a
wide variety of oxygen delivery supplies.  The MODS unit is capable of
providing oxygen to 150 patients simultaneously.  The second trailer is
a "nurse unit" and is designed to re-supply the MODS unit with liquid
oxygen.  The MODS Unit is one of four in our 13 County "Region".

ETA-EMS is an active participant in PA Region 4 EMS Strike Team.  The team is comprised of 13 ambulance services from the western part of PA.  The primary mission of PA ST-1 is the transport of patients during a disaster event.  PA ST-1 was actively involved during Hurricane’s Rita and Katrina in 2006.  In order to operate effectively, the team must be completely self-sufficient.

Amongst the teams significant cache of equipment are 3 large tents, which can operate as field hospitals.  These units are utilized as Casualty Collection Points (CCP’s).  Each CCP has the capability of treating 10 patients laying on cots.  The CCP’s can also be utilized as housing for ST-1 Personnel.
